In this workshop, we will explore and develop our ideas about creativity by responding to a range of poems, images, objects and other prompts. We will play with the themes of creativity and the elements,  and express ourselves through individual and group writing and other creative activities.  Workshop activities will also include creative responses to an exhibition in the MAC’s art galleries https://themaclive.com/exhibition/mother-tongue

This workshop is for anyone who would benefit from some creative space and the opportunity to interact with others interested in creativity. It is suitable for writers, other creatives, and therapists who would like to develop their personal and/or professional practice. You may claim a certificate with CPD hours for the workshop (please request this when booking).

The workshop will draw on the principles and practices of poetry therapy. Poetry therapy involves responding to inspiring quotations, poems, stories and other art forms. It can support self-awareness, self-expression, wellbeing, and connection with one’s emotions and creativity. This workshop is the fifth in a series developed for the Northern Ireland Poetry Therapy Interest Group, which is an initiative of the Irish Poetry Therapy Network(IPTN) https://irishpoetrytherapynetwork.blogspot.com/

 Please bring along:

  2. An item related to one of the elements, such as earth, air, water, fire, wood, metal, or any of the elements on the periodic table, or anything else!
